Convergent Medical Solutions develops technological solutions to pressing medical problems. We are looking for a junior software engineer for a six-month part-time contract position to prototype a content-based image retrieval system for a medical image database. As part of a small team, you will be responsible for:

• Developing a GUI that includes live video display, image capture controls, basic image annotation, and browsing of image results
  

• Developing camera interface code
  

• Developing a framework for system accuracy evaluations
  

• Maintaining image databases used for system evaluations
  

The position requires a solid background in developing C++ and Matlab software, in particular for GUI development. Any hands-on experience with computer vision is a plus, such as using OpenCV. Candidates must possess strong verbal and written skills to document all technical results and support business development efforts. We are open to remote work arrangements, but the ideal candidate would be located in the Boston area.
