Postdoc positions at NICTA, Canberra, Australia
NICTA (National ICT Australia) is looking to fill at least two postdoctoral positions to work with Prof. Richard Hartley in Canberra Australia. The positions will be for 2 or 3 years, and salary will be competitive internationally.
NICTA is a government-funded research institute with centres in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The Canberra Lab has strong ties with the Australian National University (ANU). The Computer Vision group at NICTA's Canberra Lab, and at ANU comprises about 12 staff members, as well as many graduate students. The position is open at the Canberra Lab. There will be an opportunity to interact with and share supervision of graduate students from ANU.
The subject of research is somewhat open, but should be related to Prof. Hartley's current research interests, which include optimization methods (both discrete and continuous), applied to computer vision problems, and applications of Riemannian geometry. Current related projects in the laboratory include vision processing for Bionic Eye (artificial vision aids for vision impaired people), hyperspectral imagery and vision-based road-side mapping and recognition. People with either strong programming skills, or a strong mathematical and theoretical background, or both, are particularly encouraged to apply.
Interested people should send an enquiry with CV to Richard.Hartley@anu.edu.au, or speak directly with Richard Hartley at CVPR
