Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT, http://english.siat.cas.cn) was jointly established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Shenzhen municipal government in Feb, 2006. It consists of three institutes of multi-disciplinary researches: Institute of Advanced Integration Technologies, Institute of Biomedical Engineering & Health Technologies and Institute of Advanced Computing and Digital Engineering. Currently it has 1200 members, including 260 research faculties (of them 182 are hired from overseas, 10 IEEE fellows, 4 AIMBE fellows, two CAE academician), 380 staff members and 560 graduate students. As of the end of 2010, SIAT has attracted research funding total 550M RMB, published 1224 papers, applied for 391 patents and spun off 36 companies.

The Center for Digital Media Computing was established in January 2010 as one of the 5 research units in the Institute of Advanced Computing and Digital Engineering (http://szs.siat.ac.cn/eindex.jsp) of SIAT. The Center is dedicated to advanced researches in new media applications in the post web2.0 era. The current areas of focus are: 3-D video coding; integrated analysis, search and compression of massive amount of surveillance videos; city augmented reality; mining and visualization of large scale sensor data. The Center has immediate openings for research scientists at all levels and post-docs in the areas of multi-view video coding, image search and 3-D computer vision. We are looking for candidates with demonstrable research records in these areas and commitment to multidisciplinary research.
