Job Requirement:

UtopiaCompression Corporation (UC), based in Los Angeles, California, is currently looking for 2 interns to work on computer vision problems for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and related applications. The ideal candidates will be self-motivated, have sufficient research experience in computer vision and willing to collaborate with senior members towards solving challenging research problems. Candidates who show exceptional ability during their internship will be considered for full time positions after the end of internship. The availability of these positions is immediate and expected to last for duration of 3 to 6 months.

Required Qualifications:

1)      Enrolled in Ph. D program with primary focus on computer vision, machine learning or related disciplines. However, M.S. level students with strong backgrounds are encouraged to apply as well.

2)      Strong programming skills in C, C++, MATLAB, Python.

3)      Good knowledge of OpenCV and other computer vision libraries is desired.

4)      Knowledge of commonly used features in computer vision/image processing (HOG, SIFT, Haar features, etc.), algorithms for object tracking, segmentation and classification.

5)      Experience with developing computer vision algorithms for Infra-Red (IR) imagery is a plus.

6)      Self-motivated, willingness to learn and experiment and effective communication skills are very important.
