We have an immediate opening for a research scientist in the field of Medical Imaging with a focus on researching and developing innovative solutions to challenging problems arising from real world whole body imaging applications. Examples of such application include deriving clinically relevant fetal measurements from 3D ultrasonography, segmenting a cohort of main organs (e.g., heart, lung, liver, kidney, etc.) from CT volumes, detecting lesions from MR volumes, etc.

 

Core responsibilities for the candidate include:
- Do research on image and data analysis techniques to advance the state-of-the-art, including generating publications in top journals and conferences
- Apply image and data analysis methods to real world problems
- Quick prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation of data analytics software product components
- Work with customers to understand algorithm requirements

 

The ideal candidate should posses the following essential skills and qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- About 5-8 years of experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities
- Proven ability to develop new research ideas as demonstrated by a strong publication record and early developments to the level of a working system prototype
- Strong theoretical and practical background in computer vision, machine learning, statistical pattern recognition, image segmentation, tracking, applied mathematics, optimization. Knowledge about medical imaging devices is a plus, but not a must.
- Experience working in medical Imaging or computer vision
- Ability to quickly prototype in C++.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a growing, dynamic team
